Where now?
by bez inits been a long time coming but i kinda think im finally at the point of no return....... right or wrong, i have spoken to my 'friends' about my new feelings and the fact i no longer believe that this is gods chosen people etc etc... and have already been told that if i was to now celebrate my childs birthdays , her 'truth' friends would not be able to come to sleep again and associate with her... (she is 7).
this is despite the fact they are allowed to play with there non witness friends who live down the road....why??
the explanation is that their daughter would perhaps feel it is ok to do this when it is not... i ask why could they not just simply explain it is not our family's belief anymore (as my husband is with me on my decision), and my response is that it would be difficult to do that as we once were witnesses and now are not so it would confuse her daughter and make her think its ok to do these things now... .

by designs inwho will be the great statesmen and philosophers of our age the voltaire's or ghandi's, or martin luther king's who will keep setting the mark of human dignity high and be brave enough to bring the religions and governments and ideologies together, not to compromise necessarily but to agree to keep the dialogue of peace on going.. or will it be ordinary folks like us, working in our communities, volunteering, voting, feeding, caring.. i spent time with my 19 month old grandson today, he held my hand as we walked along the streets of a familiar beach community i've know since i was his age.
i hope he'll walk those same streets with his son or daughter some day, in peace.. .

Well how about Jehovah in the age of banker bailouts, tying Jehovah into any political era or event would be correct because the witnesses take whatever is going on in the world as a sign that were living in the time of the end.
For stateman and philosopher-I vote for Ron Paul. He never votes for a bill that's unconstitutional. He doesn't take payola and he actually reads the bills in congress before he votes for them.

by the prospector inhow can the gb teach that the number 144,000 at rev 7.4 is a literal fixed number?.
they teach that the 12 tribes of 12,000 each at rev 7.5-8 are symbolic and the anointed don't have to be literal israelites.. so either all of it is literal or all of the descriptions of these numbers in rev are symbolic also?.

The fundamental flaw with the WTBTS as "God's Organization"?
by Essan inthere are countless issues that people have with the society and which together have led to many people realizing that it is not what it claims and pretends to be.
these include things like the secret un affiliation, contradictory and hypocritical stances, (malawi vs mexico vs un/ngo), the ever changing blood policy and ever changing doctrine, failed predictions for armageddon etc, etc, etc.. but what is the consensus about what the fundamental flaw is?.
what i mean is, many jw's hear about these various issues and manage to make endless excuses for them, even though this involves gross hypocrisy and excusing the society for things they would never excuse in other religions and which the society itself has ruthless condemned other religions for over almost 100 years.

Barack Obama is just George Bush'es third term, he follows the same policies. Look at who is in Obama's cabinet, it's all Wall Street Bankers. He is doing the same thing as George Bush did, fighting the same wars, pushing for the same banker bailouts, running up the deficit even more, wildly spending even more. Like Bush he is making us a third world debtor nation, and signing the same Unconstitutional Bush Patriot Act into law again. If you loved George Bush'es Presidency you should love Barack Obama's , if you hate George Bush'es policies you should hate Barack Obama's policies.
Anybody that votes for another main stream Republican or Democrat will get more of the same policies of Bush/Obama.
